Sophia Feulner (*1983) is an industrial designer from Germany with Greek background. In September 2019 she completed her B.A. in Industrial Design at the Folkwang University of the Arts. During her studies she discovered light as her central design tool. Paralel, she worked in a specialist trade for design luminaires to gain more experience in this field. Currently Sophia Feulner is working on her own projects as an industrial designer and as a design interior consultant at BoConcept.

Before following her passion as a designer, she graduated in 2011 with a master‘s degree in Media and Social Psychology with a minor in Computer Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Afterwards she worked for three years as a research assistant in the field of user experience.

For me, a luminaire is more than a decorative or purely functional design object. After all, light is one of the most powerful design tools – dynamic, fantastic and can be experienced experimentally. That is why my luminaires are always lighting tools that give the user an option for designing and experimenting with light. BELT, JELLY and my colour cubes are the result of this design philosophy.
